Tanit Plana IN RESiDENCE at the School Infanta Isabel d’Aragó

"Mum, we can’t play in the school playground.

Really? So, what do you do?

We walk around.”

Who has thought about how a school building should be?

Who has decided what to do and what not to do?

How does your body move in the school?

How many doors are there?

How many windows?

The school building is not just walls that contain us while we learn. Through the way in which the spaces and their distribution have been conceived, their relationship with our bodies and the furniture that has been chosen, the institution is shaping us beyond academic content. We start this artistic investigation through the tools and measures, through the different lists and actions, to better get to know the forms of control, the agents involved in educational policies, the relationship of architecture and the body and making play and creation materials.
