Nus Teatre IN RESiDENCE at the School Salvador Espriu

Proposal

We propose carrying out a creation process within the framework of the performing arts, being able to explore various theatrical disciplines such as: improvisation, dramatic text, social theatre and performance.

During the creation process, we will work in parallel both in the exploration of the subjects and  contents, as well as how to bring them to the stage, with the objective of carrying out a theatrical play as a group. We will also address the skills and capabilities needed to incorporate audience participation on the day of the presentation.

Power, participation, and creativity as core aspects

At NUS we want a fair society in which we can all develop in freedom. To achieve this, the feminist outlook brings us a structural view of inequalities and violence, and it takes into account the complexity of intertwined variables that constitute situations of exclusion or privilege, in all groups and contexts. We start from the basis that in our context there are several aspects of oppression that grant more power and privileges to one sector of the population, while excluding, discriminating or making people who are “marginalised” invisible. Thus, our methodological proposal has power and how it is used and abused as its focal point, and we will incorporate this macro-social vision into the subject matter the youngsters choose to work on.
