Marta Bisbal Torres (Mollerussa, 1974)

Marta Bisbal is a visual artist. Her projects employ a variety of media, including installations, video, film, photography, and performance. She explores territory, architecture, memory and the different ways of representing and inhabiting them, while questioning perception and the simple act of looking.

Her work has been shown in various solo exhibitions, including at Can Manyé (Alella, 2022), Roca Umbert Fàbrica de les Arts (Granollers, 2020) and Lo Pardal.  Fundació Privada Guillem Viladot (Agramunt, 2019), Museo Abelló (Mollet del Vallès, 2017), Sala Kursala (Cádiz, 2016), Centre Cívic Pati Llimona (Barcelona, 2016), Institut d'Estudis Ilerdencs (Lleida, 2014); and has participated, among others, in group exhibitions at Casal Solleric (Palma, 2025), Bòlit.  Centre d’Art Contemporani (Girona, 2025), Centre d’Art La Panera (Lleida, 2023), Centro Párraga (Murcia, 2021) and Sala Muncunill (Terrassa, 2018).

Her projects have also appeared at national and international festivals. For example, Close-Up (Paris, 2024), Écrans Urbains (Lausanne, 2024), Art Film IFF (Košice, 2024), Forma. Espais d’Art Contemporani (Balaguer, 2024 and 2022), Fotonoviembre (Tenerife, 2023), Architecture Film Festival Rotterdam (Rotterdam, 2023), Film and Architecture Festival (Prague, 2023), Asolo Art Film Festival (Asolo, 2023), Cabanades. Art als marges (Belltall, 2021), Panoràmic (Granollers, 2017), Embarrat Festival de Creació Contemporània (2017, Tàrrega), Scan Full Contact and Scan Photobooks (Tarragona, 2016), Encontros da Imagem (Braga, 2016 and 2015), Athens Photo Festival (Athens, 2016), Art Photo BCN (Barcelona, 2015) and Pa-ta-ta Festival (Granada, 2015).

In 2022, she won the El Temps de les Arts Experimental Film Award. She has been awarded two Research and Innovation Grants in Visual Arts from the Department of Culture of the Generalitat de Catalunya.

She is the author of the publications “Descentrar un centre”, “El mapa de l’imperi” and “Kosmos”. She has also completed several artistic residencies: in the EN RESiDÈNCiA programme (Barcelona, Instiutt Joncar, 2022-2023), at Arxiu Comarcal de l’Urgell (Tàrrega, 2022-2021) and at Roca Umbert Fàbrica de les Arts (Granollers, 2019-2022).

School Torre Vicens

Institut Torre Vicens (Lleida) is joining the EN RESiDÈNCiA programme for the first time. This school opened its doors in the 1991-1992 academic year to deal with overcrowding at other schools in Lleida. Its current location comes from a donation to the Lleida Provincial Council of a house and land owned by Rosa Vicens Roca, known as “Torre Vicens” (Vicens Tower).  After that, the estate changed hands a few times and, in 1981, it was sold to Lleida City Council to build Institut Torre Vicens. Currently, Institut Torre Vicens teaches secondary education, sixth form and various vocational training courses.
