Mar Garcia and Javi Soler IN RESiDENCE at the School La Sedeta
Our core artistic inspiration stems from research into the interdependence between movement and sound, two areas that are perceived and treated as key elements of theatrical composition. From the moment we began our work as a company, the musical score has established itself as the ideal link between these two artistic fields, helping to shape the theatrical material that sets our compositions apart.
Moreover, our processes are marked by preliminary, constant, and in-depth research, which aims to generate a dramaturgical space from which to question performative action. Other notable aspects include the combination of technical influences from contemporary composition with influences from the collective imagination, as well as stage creation with constant attention to what the audience reads and receives.
En Residencia is an opportunity for us to launch our tools for creative research and our compositional methodology to the group. We want to see how they make use of our tools. We are interested in how they play from their perspectives, and how they propose and question themselves from the abstract nature of research. Based on this practical research, we aim to create, develop and construct the stage, with sound and movement at the heart of the performance.
