Clàudia Pagès (Barcelona, 1990)

This artist’s work is expressed and circulates in the form of performances, readings, books and installations in which she explores the uses and affections of language.

She has shown her work, both solo and duo, at such institutions as Veronica, Amsterdam (2018), Yaby, Madrid (2018), La Capella, Barcelona (2017), Rongwrong, Amsterdam (2016), and P/////AKT, Amsterdam (2015).

She has recently presented performances at various venues, including Gasworks, London (2018), Sharjah Art Foundation March Meetings, Emirate of Sharjah (2018), Ca2M Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo, Madrid (2017), KAI 10 / Arthena Foundation, Düsseldorf (2016), La Casa Encendida, Madrid (2016) and the Moderna Museet, Stockholm (2015).

She has been in residence at Live Works Centrale Fies, Trento (2017), Gasworks, London (2017), and Ca2M and La Casa Encendida, Madrid, (2016). In  2016-2017, she received the Mondriaan Fonds Werkbijdrage Jong Talent Prize in Holland.

It has taken part in two editions of IN RESiDENCE with Pep Duran (2016-2017) and Alícia Casadesús (2017-2018). In this new edition, it is participating with a group of pupils in the fourth year of compulsory secondary education.

Institut Jaume Balmes, founded in 1845, is Barcelona's oldest secondary school and one of the educational institutions most deeply rooted in the city's history. Since 1942, the school has been based in the Eixample district, at the junction of Pau Claris and Consell de Cent.
