Tau Luna Acosta (Medellín, 1989)

Tau Lluna is a visual artist, researcher, facilitator, curator, and educator. A non-binary migrant, their practice revolves around human migration and its links to colonial violence, as well as listening and shared memory with migrant beings rather than humans. Their work combines ancestral, scientific, and intuitive technologies to investigate the soil, stones, listening, and remembering things that seem lifeless.

They hold a Master's degree in Cultural Studies with a queer perspective from Miguel Hernández University (2025), a Bachelor's degree in Art History and Curatorship with a specialisation in Latin American art from the University of the Argentine Social Museum (2015) and a postgraduate degree in Sound Art from the University of Chile (2016) and in Historical Memory of the Colombian Armed Conflict from the University of Antioquia (2022). They are currently pursuing a Diploma in Environmental Humanities at the intersection of art, science, and technology at the University of Tres de Febrero (2025).

Their career has developed between Latin America and Europe, where they have exhibited their work in large and small institutions and coordinated and produced projects in critical mediation, community pedagogy, and support for migrant and transfeminist collectives.

Their recent work includes mediation rooms for exhibitions such as “Del foc brotaran les llavors que ha guardat la terra” (From the fire will sprout the seeds that the earth has kept) for the 2023 Miró Prize (won by artist Tan Andrew Nguyen), and “El territori és per a qui el cuida” (The territory is for those who care for it) for the exhibition “Amazonias”. This includes the design of the mediation programme “Trenza” for migrant artists from the Global South at L'Escocesa, and mediation for Cybersin, as part of the exhibition “La via xilena al disseny”, and for the Antoni Tàpies Foundation, among others.

They are a resident artist at L'Escocesa, a translator and part of the Selvagem community, a series of studies on life coordinated by the indigenous thinker Ailton Krenak (Brazil). Their work is part of the collections of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Santiago de Chile and the El Dorado Space in Bogotá.
