He graduated from the Institut del Teatre in Barcelona, where he studied stage direction and dramaturgy, before moving on to the Sala Beckett. Prior to that, he studied performing arts at the Col·legi de Teatre. Nowadays, he works as a dramaturg, stage director and theatre writing and acting teacher.

In his role as creator, he has written and directed his own productions, including Com es moren els ocells (Fundació Joan Brossa); Com destruir una casa (Temporada Alta Festival / Sala La Planeta); Articulado ligero (Teatre Tantarantana); Bruels, winner of the Premi Adrià Gual (Teatre Lliure / Festival Grec) and Granotes (La Pedrera / Festival TNT / Sala Beckett).

Commissions include works for companies such as LALTRE Col·lectiu (És aquesta pluja, premiered at the Teatre de La Passió in Esparreguera); Unter den Linden (directing Aprendre a nedar, by Sasha Marianna Salzmann, and Amor. Un exercici argumentatiu, by Sivan ben Yishai, both premiered at the Teatre Tantarantana), La Llarga (the company for which he wrote the text Llançament, which won the Premi de la Sala Sandaru and premiered at the Sala La Planeta) and Agitart (a collaboration in the dramaturgy of the dance show Dust, directed by Roger Fernández and premiered at The Place, London).

He has also written Port llevant (Temporada Alta Festival playwriting competition); Lume (winner of a Sala Beckett writing grant), and A la vall (winner of the Carlota Soldevila creation grant awarded by the Teatre Lliure).

As assistant director, he has worked with Helena Tornero on the shows Kalimat and El Futur, both premiered at the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya, and with Julio Wallovits on the show Argentinamiento, premiered at the Sala Beckett.

From 2016 to 2021, he sat on the editorial board of the magazine (Pausa.), linked to the Sala Beckett theatre. In the publishing sector, he has worked with Editorial Vicens Vives and Enciclopèdia Catalana.

Oriol Morales i Pujolar took part in the 15th edition of EN RESiDÈNCiA (2023-2024), where he created El Barrio with a group of fourth-year ESO students at Instituto Barri Besòs, with Jordi Sánchez as their teacher. El Barrio was presented at the Sala Beckett / Obrador Internacional de Dramatúrgia on 24 May 2024.

Pablo Macho Otero (Cangas de Narcea, Asturias, 1994)

Pablo Macho Otero is a playwright, director and actor.  He graduated in Hispanic Philology from the University of Barcelona and trained at the Nancy Tuñón Studio, the Obrador de la Sala Beckett and the Jacques Lecoq International School in Paris.

He began his theatre career in collaborative productions such as Els Malnascuts/Esquerdes (Sala Beckett, 2014), Si au si (Temporada Alta, 2016), Odisseus (Sala Beckett, 2016), BERESHIT (Sala Beckett, 2017) and La Trinxera (Sala Flyhard, 2017). 

In 2017, he was part of Studio Européen, an international gathering of young playwrights organised by Enzo Cormann at La Chartreuse (Centre national des écritures du spectacle), and in 2018 he received the Miguel Hernández University International Poetry Prize for his first collection of poems, ZOE antilogía.

He is a founding member of the La Bella Otero theatre company, with which he has premiered his plays Enterrando a Dodot (La Gleva, 2021; Zaragoza City Council's 2022 Ensayo Theatre and Science Award), Loco Amoris (Teatre Tantarantana, 2021), A Fuego (La Gleva, 2023; nominated for Best Foreign Show at the 2024 Florencio Awards in Uruguay and for the Novaveu Award at the 2025 Critics' Awards) and Prosopopeya (Teatre Lliure, 2025). 

Away from his company, he has premiered a new verse adaptation of Molière's The Misanthrope (Grec Festival/Teatre Lliure, 2024) and a new translation of Yasmina Reza's God of Carnage (Teatre Goya, 2025).
