Mónica Rikić (Barcelona 1986). Electronic artist and creative programmer.

She studied Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona and then studied a Master's degree in Digital Arts at the Pompeu Fabra University, where, in the code and electronics, she discovered a very powerful artistic language in accordance with her creative needs. She is currently finishing a Master’s degree in Contemporary Philosophy at the UOC.

She focuses her work on creative code and electronics, combining them with non-digital objects to create interactive projects often framed as experimental games and robotic installations. Her interest focuses on the social impact of technology. From educational approaches to sociological experiments, her projects propose new ways of interacting with the digital environment around us.

She has taken part in international festivals such as Ars Electronica in Linz, Creative Tech Week in New York, Robotronica in Australia or FILE in Brazil, among others, and has exhibited at national institutions such as CCCB, CaixaForum, Arts Santa Mónica or Disseny Hub. She has won the National Culture Award of Catalonia 2021, and awards at the Japan Media Arts Festival, AMAZE Berlin, Margaret Guthman Musical Instrument Competition (Atlanta) and a  Leonardo grant for Cultural Creators and Researchers of the BBVA Foundation 2018. She has done artistic residences at TAG in Montreal, QUT in Australia, Platohedro in Medellín, Medialab Prado in Madrid and Etopia in Zaragoza. Recently one of her pieces has been incorporated in the .BEEP {collection;} of electronic art.

Rec Comtal is the public school which provides infant, primary and secondary school education in the Trinitat Vella neighbourhood. It opened its doors during the 2020-2021 academic year, merging with the Ramón Berenguer III School and, later, with the Comas i Solà Secondary School, an educational centre which had also participated in eight editions of the iN RESiDENCE programme, with Erick Beltrán and Mireia C. Saladrigues, Daniela Ortiz, Jeleton, Toni Mira, Anna Pantinat, Constanza Brnčić, Troposfera.xyz and Ileana Ortega.
