Jaume Clotet IN RESiDENCE at the School Barres i Ones

An observation: the art we have known has disappeared or been ousted from its place. During an era in which entertainment has taken over, where Netflix competes with viewers' need for sleep and TikTok competes for their attention, let's discuss what it means to imagine and create today. The starting point will be to immerse ourselves in the omnipresent universe of leisure from an artistic perspective. This is not to imitate it, but to disrupt it with free-flowing and liberating thought, dismantling its codes through silliness, playfulness, and the power of visual and artistic expression. My approach involves accessible and non-intimidating materials, humour, and surprise as working tools. Art with a capital A weighs too heavily and often looks down on entertainment as low culture, but we urgently need to take ownership of this space that shapes collective imaginaries. Our aim is to slip through the cracks of entertainment, treating it as a playful battlefield, camouflaging ourselves among its manifestations to resurface in a different form.
