The idea is to explore the procedural and material relationship Helena Civit develops through her observations, looking at all forms of language as links in a chain of circumstances and material forces. She looks back, often to distant pasts, and wants to share this with students, exploring ideas of archaeology, observation, speculation, and a certain relationship with the tenuous and ambiguous. Beyond opening up the artist's personal imaginative vocabulary, through exercises and practical experiments, the aim is to seek new paths and resonances back to the here and now of the group, to play collectively with forms of listening and expression that oscillate between image and word.
