Curro Claret IN RESiDENCE at the School Joan Brossa

Although there is a fairly established perception of placing design as a discipline focused mainly at the service of purely commercial interests, there are many practices that seek ways to deal with the problems and challenges of society that do not always have to follow the logics of the market.

Starting from the school’s immediate surroundings, we will look for people and groups living in the neighbourhood, we’ll investigate the levels of coexistence that are established among them, and we will particularly focus on those who are in the most isolated and vulnerable situations. We’ll explore and propose different actions, instruments and artefacts (designs) with these people to stimulate and facilitate ways to relate to each other which can go beyond their current state.
