Carolina Torres Topaga (Barcelona)

Actress, theatre director, performer and cultural manager.

Born in Barcelona, but with Colombian roots, she is a performer and theatre director. Her stage work combines acting with directing, live music and collective creation, integrating feminist, anti-racist and decolonial perspectives. She has worked in Spain, Austria, Colombia, Costa Rica and Germany, both in independent and institutional circuits.

She has directed projects such as Teatro Sense Nom, No es país para negras, Parar de pararme, MI Parce and Maria_u2b, in which she explores hybrid languages at the intersection of theatre, music and political performance. Her artistic practice draws on methodologies such as Viewpoints, community theatre, closed-circuit performance and creation with migrant, racialised and gender-dissident collectives.

She has collaborated with various international companies and festivals, and combines her stage work with teaching theatre and managing transformative cultural processes.
