Carolina Campos
Carolina Campos is Brazilian and has lived in Barcelona since 2019. She works across dance and performance, with a focus on dramaturgy, curatorship and pedagogy. She is the author of the book Interrogar l'acompanyar (LIO, 2024) and pedagogical coordinator of Campar Campo, a dance research and creation programme directed by La Caldera and La Poderosa. She also co-coordinates the independent space Fondo.
Together with Fons, she curates the programme Un assaig permanent at Fundació Miró (2026). She was co-curator of Sense esquerda no hi ha punt de llum at Centre d'Arts Santa Mònica (2025), and of the Advanced Programme in Performing Arts PACAP5 in Lisbon (2021–2022). She collaborates with Letícia Skrycky on Matèria Lleu, a research and training platform for stage lighting aimed at cis women, trans people and non-binary people, based in Lisbon.
She leads workshops and creative laboratories across Southern Europe and the Global South. She develops educational and creative projects at Graner, La Poderosa, La Capella and La Caldera.
She has created works, performances and videos with Márcia Lança, João Fiadeiro, Rafael Frazão, Dl. Chieregati and Ibon Salvador. Since 2012, she has been researching Real-Time Composition, a methodology developed by Portuguese choreographer João Fiadeiro that explores improvisation, decision-making and collaboration through performance practices. In Brazil, she worked with Lia Rodrigues Cia de Danças (2008–2011).
She holds a postgraduate qualification in Photography from Universidade Cândido Mendes (UCAM-RJ) and in Contemporary Culture and New Technologies from Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas (FCSH) in Lisbon. Institut Barri Besòs has grown steadily since 1977, thanks to the joint efforts of parents, teachers, students, community members, government agencies, organisations, and institutions. This collaboration has resulted in a public educational centre rooted in its social environment, open to the neighbourhoods it serves, based on a democratic and participatory approach. It has sought to implement a high-quality educational programme that is sensitive to the compensatory treatment of social inequalities and aims to promote scientific and technological education and the values of humanistic culture.
