Arquea Col·lectiu operates at the intersection of sound creation, visual arts and biology. It is an assemblage made up of microorganisms inhabiting speculative territories; soundscapes connecting other spatiotemporal dimensions; the vocal apparatus of a modular synthesiser; the retina of a microscope camera; and two human beings, Marzia Matarese and Patricia Usero, who interact with these agents on different levels. Drawing on formats rooted in audiovisual performance and expanded cinema, Arquea Col·lectiu proposes a video-sound exploration of territories and becomings suspended between the physical dimension of decomposing matter and speculative landscapes shaped through dialogue and tension with the places where the piece originated.

Marzia Matarese is a visual artist and mycophile. She draws on undisciplined methodologies and speculative fiction to create works across a range of media, including video, photography, installation, performance and culture media. Her work explores the intricate relationships between the biotic, abiotic and artificial realms through speculative cosmotechnics and embodied strategies aimed at destabilising human exceptionalism and creating spaces for post-natural queer ecologies.

Patricia Usero is a sound artist immersed in the world of modular synthesisers, DIY/DIWO instrument building and field recordings. Her work focuses on deep listening and dialogue between natural sound recordings and modular synthesis systems, through which geophonies, biophonies and anthrophonies are filtered. She creates soundscapes that emphasise the importance of sound in multispecies communication and survival, exploring the emotions evoked by our relationship with the environment.

Arquea Col·lectiu's performances have been presented at various national and international festivals and cultural venues, including Festival Digit (Pratdip, 2026), Festival Rizomes (La Cellera de Ter, 2026), Einxs Pro at Hangar (Barcelona, 2025), Festival International d’Art Video de Casablanca (Morocco, 2024), CaixaForum Barcelona (Barcelona, 2023), Ecoss Festival: Ecosistemes de l’Inesperat at Fabra i Coats (Barcelona, 2023), Lo Mon Contemporáneo (Hecho, 2023), La Caldera (Barcelona, 2023) and Festival L’Alternativa at CCCB (Barcelona, 2022). Their earlier work includes performances at Rarefacció, Hangar (Barcelona, 2022), a collaboration with Kyoka during the Cicle Entropia at Etopia (Zaragoza, 2022), and performances at La Cinètika (Barcelona, 2022), Modular Day 8 (Barcelona, 2021) and Festival Eufònic (Ebro Delta, 2021).
