Fàbrica de hits
Since the early months of residence, the creator had been coordinating a way of working where students composed song-format creations in groups, based on a proposed subject or whatever particularly interested them — from Halloween or Christmas to feminism or rejection of drugs. Students would come up with some lyrics and a melody and Joan, armed with a computer, would record their voices and reach a consensus with them over the structure and orchestration required for the piece. It was from this body of songs and this work method that the idea came about for presenting part of this repertoire in a collection entitled Fàbrica de hits. Set on bringing a fully musical atmosphere to the presentation, he decided to hold it at the Sala Vol del Poblenou, a concert hall run by the L’Afluent cooperative and which the group had already visited to do a small rehearsal on stage a few months before. The chosen date for the final presentation was 14 May.

On the day of the presentation, the Sala Vol was quite full, with both parents and students from the school attending. A poster announcing the concert, in the style typically used by the hall, greeted the audience as they entered. Fàbrica de hits was a hybrid show, where the audience could hear some of the songs recorded during the year, live performances of other pieces and explanations from students of some of the processes dealt with over the course of the year. Joan Colomo led the event, using his unmistakable showman style.
