PSIRC IN RESiDENCE at the School Martí Pous

PSIRC
Wanja Kahlert (Anlès, 1994) and Anna Pascual (Barcelona, 1983) are part of the company PSIRC (Barcelona, 2011), which is a contemporary circus company that since its beginnings has been exploring new ways of making circus today.
Starting with an aesthetic and technical exploration of the acrobatic body, research has led the company to look at other factors that influence the dramaturgy such as the composition of the space, the lighting and the musicality. This has led us not only to put the body on stage, but also to take part in creative projects from other roles, such as directing, lighting, dramaturgy and scenography.
Thus, we try to identify our own language, without losing sight of our inevitable inscription in a historical, social and scenic context, and to understand how, from our particular vision, we can contribute to the collective evolution/re-definition of the performing arts.

http://agora.xtec.cat/insmartipousThis is Martí Pous' fifth participation in EN RESiDÈNCiA. In previous editions it has hosted the creative processes of Cristina Checa (2018-2019), Jorge Albuerne (2020-2021), Cristina Celada (2021-2022) and Gatillo Culón (2022-2023). Again, a group of third year ESO students will be involved.

The Institut Martí Pous was created in 2017 and makes up part of the cultural and educational facilities located in the Fabra i Coats complex. Its proximity to the Fàbrica de Creació, the Centre for Art, the Ateneo L'Harmonia, the Ignasi Iglesias - Can Fabra Library, the Taller de Músics and the CRAB (Barcelona Artistic Resource Centre), among others, help to reinforce the school's status as a centre of cultural production, together with the La Filadora daycare centre, the Can Fabra primary school and the Sant Andreu Municipal Music School.
