Pau Matas and Cèlia Rovira IN RESiDENCE at the School Josep Pla

Pau Matas Nogué (Barcelona, 1993)

Creative artist working in the performing and musical arts, Pau has a degree in Audiovisual Communication from the UPF and has completed professional courses in guitar and classical music. He runs the audiovisual production company Asimètric films and has created several shows, including Travy (2018), Tumbalafusta (2024) and Gola (2024). He has also created around forty sound designs for various shows, including Ragazzo (2015), La mala dicció (2020) and Sísif fa no fa (2023).

 

Cèlia Rovira Rodon (El Papiol, 1994)

She has a degree in Music Education from the Catalonia College of Music and has spent much of her professional career working in early music education, musical language and expression, choral singing and collective creation in the classroom. In 2019, she joined the teaching staff at the Municipal School of Music in Mataró, which she combines with participation in performing arts projects such as Odisseus (2016), Arribo a mitja tarda (2022), The Unfinished Human Manifesto (2022) and Clarissa (2023).

Institut Josep Pla (El Turó de la Peira, Nou Barris, Barcelona) is taking part in EN RESIDÈNCIA for the second time, with a group of fourth-year ESO students. The school welcomed playwright Marta Galán for the fourth edition (2012-2013), who led the creative process for A mà d'obra: Desaparició simbòlica de 12 treballadors i dels objectes que fabriquen, together with a group of first- and second-year ESO students and their teachers, with the help of A Bao A Qu.  This work was later presented in the collective exhibitions “EN RESiDÈNCiA. Ni es crea ni es destrueix” (La Capella, 2014) and “Aquí hem trobat un espai per pensar” (Fabra i Coats Art Centre, 2019).

Institut Josep Pla was founded in the 1991-1992 academic year. The school is in Turó de la Peira, where the districts of Horta-Guinardó and Nou Barris meet, and throughout its history it has welcomed students from both districts. Since the 2022-2023 academic year, this school has been part of the Horta-Guinardó school network and currently has affiliated schools in that district. Institut Josep Pla's participation in EN RESIDÈNCIA focuses on promoting the performing arts and arts education within the educational curriculum.
