José y sus Hermanas (2017)

JYSH burst onto the theatre scene in 2017 and, since then, has established itself as one of the most exciting contemporary theatre companies in Catalonia. Their work is characterised by a constant deconstruction of theatrical languages and a relentless search for new ways of storytelling. Through a hybrid style that blends theatre, performance and audiovisual elements, the company has staged plays such as Els bancs regalen sandvitxeres i xoriços, Arma de construcció massiva, Explori el Jardí dels Carpats and Concurs de mals talents, in which they reflect on identity, social insecurity, technology and death from a critical, poetic and provocative perspective.

By collaborating with institutions like the Centre d'Arts Santa Mònica, the CCCB and the Espai Brossa, and festivals like the Grec and Dansa Metropolitana, José y sus Hermanas has expanded their creative universe beyond the stage, strengthening their commitment to experimentation, theatrical thinking and collective creation.

This is Antaviana's (Les Roquetes, Nou Barris) eighth consecutive participation in EN RESiDÈNCiA. Previously, Nora Ancarola and Marga Ximénez, Sebastián García Ferro, Eulàlia Garcia Valls, Octavi Serra, Luís Tabuenca, Si Los Martes Fueran Viernes and Cia Aina Lanas have all taken part.  This year, a group of third-year ESO students are participating in the programme.

Institut Escola Antaviana is known for its commitment to inclusion and diversity as one of its main educational goals. The school's student body reflects the social spectrum of the neighbourhood and is highly diverse in terms of individual educational needs and socioeconomic background. Antaviana also has strong ties to families, the neighbourhood and its facilities, such as Nou Barris Ateneu, which serves as a meeting place for the entire educational community.
