Jaume Clotet (Manresa, 1994)

Jaume Clotet is an interdisciplinary artist with a degree in Fine Arts from the Universitat de Barcelona. He is known for his parody of artistic identity, his search for a ridiculous fantasy of himself, and his creation of platforms/shows that question conventions and norms.

Clotet has held several solo exhibitions, including “New Ywork” (Espai Rampa-La Capella, 2022), “20vingut” (EtHALL project space, 2020), “Diverrealism” (Habitación 34, 2020), “INTEGRAL” (La Capella, 2019) and “NeoGroupie” (Galeria SiS, 2015). His exhibition “20vingut” received the GAC award for best emerging artist exhibition of 2020. “ALUSINASONS” (Antic Teatre, 2024) is his first theatre show, which premiered at the Grec Festival.

Since 2019, he has co-directed the performative comedy event “Cabaret Internet” with Alicia Garrido, with 19 editions to date.

He has carried out projects in residencies such as Nau Estruch (Sabadell, 2022-2023), the “espais c” programme (Escola Aldana, 2022-2024, Barcelona Education Consortium and Barcelona Institute of Culture), La Infinita (L'Hospitalet, 2020), the Rad'Art Foundation (Italy, 2017) and the BilbaoArte Foundation (Bilbao, 2017).

This is the second time in a row that Institut Barres i Ones (Llefià, Badalona) has taken part in EN RESiDÈNCiA. During its first participation, it hosted the creative process “Uff final: més enllà del soroll” (Uff final: beyond the noise) by Laura Llaneli, which was exhibited at the L’Escorxador Cultural Centre. This year, Institut Barres i Ones is participating in the programme with a group of fourth-year ESO students.

Institut Barres i Ones has been operating since 1986. The current building opened during the 1990-1991 academic year under the name “Badalona 8”. In 1993, following a contest among the students, it was decided to adopt its current name, Institut Barres i Ones, which is a nod to the iconography of the coat of arms of the city of Badalona.
