Bàrbara Mestanza (Barcelona, 1990)
Bàrbara Mestanza, winner of the 2020 Temporada Alta Playwriting Competition, is an actress, singer, director and playwright. Her creative work aims to shock audiences by exposing all the shameful aspects of our patriarchal system. She made a name for herself as a singer and songwriter with the musical theatre group The Mamzelles and through her work as an actress in the audiovisual industry. Her plays and projects as a director include La mujer más fea del mundo (The Ugliest Woman in the World), Pocahontas o la verdadera historia de una traviesa (Pocahontas or the True Story of a Mischievous Girl) and Todas las flores (All the Flowers). Sucia, her first novel, fictionalises her own story of sexual abuse based on her play of the same name, which, after touring the country, has been turned into a documentary about to be released and a film entitled DURO, which premiered at the D'A Film Festival in Barcelona and the Atlàntida Film Fest.

School Escola Eixample
https://www.ieeixample.cat/This is the fifth time in a row that Institut Escola Eixample (La Dreta de l'Eixample, Barcelona) has taken part in EN RESiDÈNCiA. Previously, it has hosted the creative processes of David Franch, with the mediation of Teatre Lliure; Urati laboratori and Juana Dolores, with the mediation of Centre de les Arts Lliures de la Fundació Joan Brossa; and Roc Esquius, through Sala Beckett. This year, they are participating in the programme again with a group of third-year ESO students.

Contemporary creation lies at the heart of Institut Escola Eixample's educational project, which was established in 2020 through the integration of the former Col·legi Immaculada Concepció into Barcelona's public school network, in a neighbourhood with high demand for public school places.
