Biography

Institut Manuel Carrasco i Formiguera (Vilapicina i la Torre Llobeta, Nou Barris) is taking part in EN RESiDÈNCiA for the first time. The school is located on the border between the Horta-Guinardó district (where the students from its affiliated centres come from) and Nou Barris.  At the end of the 20th century, it began offering experimental studies for the first-year ESO with students from Col·legi Font d'en Fargas, occupying part of that school's building. In 1994, it added sixth form studies, with its permanent move to the current building, next to the Torre Llobeta Civic Centre.   Its name pays tribute to the politician and lawyer Manuel Carrasco i Formiguera (Barcelona 1890 - Burgos 1938), who was imprisoned during the dictatorship of Primo de Rivera and executed by the rebel army during the Spanish Civil War.
